杰瑞 · 比萨奇（Jerry Piasecki），韦恩州立大学毕业，美国记者、小说家，创建联合国新闻广播电台并担任台长，创建并促进联合国“环球和平教育项目”。有多部小说出版，其中《天堂的毁灭》、《梦想与灰烬》、《乱世小玛丽》作为“联合国人道主义思想教育小说系列在中国翻译出版。2011年6月，应陕西省翻译协会聘请，担任《青木川》英文译稿的审校、定稿工作。

Congratulatory Message

The essence of a culture is in its art. Through music, visual arts, poetry and literature one can experience the true emotions, deepest dreams and personal human histories of a people who otherwise might remain a mystery. Greenwood Riverside is a work that offers a shining gateway to knowledge and understanding of the Chinese people, both past and present. In my view it is a compelling story of power, politics and revolution. It is a story of violence and ambition. It is a story of truths, loss and history. It is above all else a love story.

Author Ye Guangqin weaves a marvelous, detailed saga and poignant portrayal of the lives led by bandits and heroes, rich and poor, men and women. As an author, I need to congratulate her on her creation . . . on her art. The English translation will open new worlds to a broad audience, and as such represents a part of the globalization of thought, ideas and the creative spirit.

People everywhere share the same hopes, joys, fears and visions. This simple truth regarding the solidarity of humankind is so often blocked by the darkness of ignorance and intolerance. Greenwood Riverside shines a light on that darkness.

On a personal note, it has been a true joy to be part of this project, one which will entertain, inspire, intrigue and educate English readers worldwide.
